WORK
The collection of Studio Quasi consists of Unfunctional and Functional ceramics: tableware and vases and objects that often refer to traditional tableware but where practical limitations have been abandoned.
UNFUNCTIONALS
With the Unfunctionals, all restrictions that consumer goods normally impose on the maker are removed: they do not have to be convenient to use. Things don’t have to be waterproof, food safe, hygienic or practical. Vases that cannot hold water, jugs with unnecessary ornaments that interfere with pouring or bowls that only fit 1 piece of fruit. Sometimes the work questions the position/status of functionality or it creates a very particular functionality.
Come and see the unique Unfunctionals collection. The Unfunctionals are unique pieces and cannot be made to order. But if you are interested in something specific or custom made, please do not hesitate to send an email.
FUNCTIONALS
Functionals are cups, places, bowls and vases that you can use.
” I have a preference for playfulness and small/subtle gestures, both in appearance and in use. Vases where the flower arrangement is controlled by the shape of the vase, cups that are very nice to hold and feel. And bowls for eating out together or offering you a way to serve leftovers in a cheerful way.”
Candlesticks as a statement piece on a mischievously set table or on a mantelpiece and practical storage boxes against mice are also part of the functionals of studio Quasi.
